SANY road machinery used in the Yangon–Mandalay Expressway upgrade

The Yangon-Mandalay highway upgrade was finished recently and a ceremony was held in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital city of Myanmar. A total of 9 SANY machines including road rollers, pavers and motor graders took part in the construction. Minister of Construction U Win Khaing attended the ceremony and gave high praise for the SANY equipment.

The highway connects Myanmar’s business center Yangon, the capital Nay Pyi Taw and the country’s second largest city Mandalay. It is 540 km long in total and plays a critical role in Myanmar’s economy. In 2014, the Ministry of Construction announced to upgrade the Yangon-Mandalay highway with the aim of reducing the accidents on the road.

The expressway upgrade was contracted by the leading road building company - Oriental Highway, and all the road machinery were supplied by SANY. “By now, we own around 100 units of SANY machines. We have full confidence about SANY and will use more SANY products in the various projects in the future,” manager in Oriental Highway said.
