SANY Supports Super Project of “Malaysia's East Coast Rail Link”

 The largest project conducted by Chinese companies overseas launched

Aug 9: Under the witness of state councilor Mr.WangYong and the prime minister of Malaysia Mr. Najib,the ground-breaking ceremony for Malaysia's East Coast Rail Link was held in Kuantan, the capital of Pahang. This railway project contracted by China Communications Construction is the largest project conducted by Chinese companies overseas at present and also one of the most prominent ones under the Belt and Road initiative. Various SANY machines including excavators, rotary drilling rigs, cranes, concrete pump machinery were displayed at the ceremony, attracted huge attention.

The MYR 55 billion (USD 12.8 billion) ECRL is 688 km long in totality making it the biggest project between Malaysia and China and praised as the flagship project by media. It originates in Gombak District, close to Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur and ends in Kelantan, northeast of Malaysia. The rail link will adopt China’s railway standard, with passenger train running at 160 km/h. “This is an important project which will not only create 1.5% GDP growth, but also help Malaysia play a bigger role in Southeast Asia,” Hon. Mr. Najib Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia said at the event.

As the leading company of China’s construction equipment industry, SANY presented 14 equipment including excavators，drilling rigs，cranes，concrete pump machinery at the ceremony to receive inspection and has become the focus of social media reports. With the launching of this project, Sany will further play the advantages of international industry chain and provide superior services for China Communications Construction.

Over the years, SANY has been maintaining a strategic cooperative relationship with China Communications Construction. In its construction of the Pakistan KKH Highway Phase II project, Angola Cayo Port project, Kenya Mengni railway project and other major projects, SANY has played an important role. In Mengni railway project, 108 unit of Sany equipment has involved in the whole line construction. In 2017, China Communications Construction firstly rating on the domestic equipment suppliers, Sany Heavy Industry successfully been selected as the first batch of four A class equipment suppliers.

SANY has deeply participated in the infrastructure construction of Malaysia

As early as in 2007, SANY already entered the Malaysian market. After 10 years of development, SANY has generated RMB 800 million sales. During this period, SANY has established a positive brand image by participated in the construction of major projects including the second airport of Malaysia and Port Swettenham.

Besides the construction machinery, Sany also made fast-growing achievements in Precasting Concrete Field. On March.21st, 2017, the first PC plant’s foundation stone was laid in Malaysia Terengganu. The advanced manufacturing facility will be installed in the plant and the annual concrete will reach 50000 m3 by estimation.

As Sany participates in Malaysia’s economic deeper and deeper, the bilingual communication and visits become more frequent. Jan, 11th this year, Mr. Zahid, the Vice Prime Minister of Malaysia lead the local delegation visited Sany, both sides exchanges the idea and made an agreement on development and cooperation in housing, new energy, port, education, construction machinery , Financing and so on.
