Africa has been one of Sany Group's key markets, and as the continent's infrastructure needs increase and China's Belt and Road Initiative advances, the company plans to further strengthen its business development and increase cooperation with African nations.
Sany has established business units in the North, Central and Southern Africa regions. After years of continued development and increased market penetration, Sany North Africa and Sany Central and Southern Africa (Sany CSA) have built an extensive network of local dealers and established long-term cooperative relations with other Chinese enterprises in Africa.
Based on the market situation and local demand, Sany has focused its product portfolio in Africa on construction, road and port machinery, such as concrete pumps, cranes, motor graders, reach stackers and excavators. Sany CSA's main markets are South Africa, Angola, Zambia, Congo and Ghana, and Sany North Africa's main business is in Algeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Egypt and Nigeria.
To date, Sany's sales in Africa have exceeded US$1.52 billion (10 billion yuan), and more than 12,000 units of Sany machinery are in use across the continent. Sany's market share and brand recognition have increased substantially in the different regions as a result of the quality of products and after-sales service Sany and its local dealers have delivered to customers across Africa.
In addition to putting more effort in localizing its business model, Sany will continue to strengthen cooperation with African nations in industrial manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure development and urban construction in the following years.
