SANY’s agent - Myanmar Southwest Branch of PMF was officially opened in PATHEIN, Ayeyarwady, Myanmar on October 19 2017 and became the fourth marketing service point after Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw.
Pathein is an important port city of Myanmar, the largest port in the southwest of Myanmar, and the capital of Ayeyarwady. Pathein is near the Pathein River and about 150km away from Yangon eastward. Pathein’s population is about 160,000. Pathein is a rice trade center with a long history. Pathein has industrial sectors involving machinery manufacturing, shipbuilding, metal processing, rice milling, ceramics, sawing, etc. Pathein exports mainly rice and teak. Ten thousand tons of ships can enter and leave Pathein, where the railway is connected with Yangon- Prome railway.
Ayeyarwady is a southern province of Myanmar. Ayeyarwady consists mainly of the Ayeyarwady River Delta and is bordered by the Bay of Bengal west and by the Andaman Sea south and southeast. Ayeyarwady covers an area of 3.5×104 km2 and has a population of about 6.50 million. Tangdebin oilfield near Minweng, Ruipida and Zhangjing Township produces oil; Ruipida oilfield and Apiao gas field produce natural gas.
SANY’s agent - Myanmar Southeast Branch of PMF was officially opened in Taunggyi - the capital of Shan State, Myanmar on 8 November 2017 and became the fifth marketing service point of PMF in Myanmar.
Taunggyi, a city in the southeast of Myanmar and the capital of Shan State, is the fifth largest city of Myanmar. Taunggyi is the political, cultural and commercial trading center in Shan State. Taunggyi is 140km away from Naypyidaw - the capital of Myanmar and has a population of more than 200,000. The urban area of Taunggyi is located on the plateau with an elevation of 1436m and has cool climate. In Burmese, “Taunggyi” means “mountain” because of its famous eastern mountain - Taung-chun (The Crag).
Shan State, located in the east of Myanmar, borders on China, Thailand and Laos, covers an area of 155,800 km2 and has a population of about 6.09 million. Shan State is the state with the largest area and the largest population in Myanmar. There are silver, lead, zinc and copper ores near Namtu in the north of Shan State. The north and west of Shan State have railways, which lead to the middle part of Myanmar from Lashio and Taunggyi respectively.
SANY’s marketing manger Mr. Xie Wei said: “new service points integrate marketing and service functions, and their opening will greatly improve the timeliness of marketing service response of SANY’s agents in the southwest and southeast provinces in Myanmar; at present, the possession number of SANY equipment increases quickly in the two provinces”.
The United States announced the lifting of nearly 20 years of economic sanctions against Myanmar in October 2016. Myanmar is the last uncultivated “virgin land” rich in natural resources in Southeast Asia, and its pace of reform and opening up has just begun. Myanmar Government is actively promoting political reconciliation and national reconciliation while working on improving people's living standards and developing economy.
In addition, Myanmar Government is promoting the construction of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, ports, electric power, etc., all of which need a large quantity of construction machinery equipment.
