SANY excavator sales top the domestic market in May

According to the statistics of China Construction Machinery Association, the domestic sale volume of excavator reached 11271 units, a year-on-year growth of 105.6 percent. From January to May, excavator’s accumulative sale reached 66135 units, a year-on-year growth of 100.5 percent. SANY, as a leading enterprise in construction machinery industry, topped the excavator market in May with monthly sales of 2261 units, a year-on-year growth of 121 percent and 20 percent market share.

SANY’s excavator sales has topped the domestic market for 6 years. In May, 30 excavator models sold more than one hundred units, among which SANY small excavator SY75C-10 sold 530 units, accounting for 9.47 percent of mini excavator sales. An industry insider noted that the demand for the infrastructure construction is an important factor driving the industry. PPP projects are still a steady growth momentum. According to the statistics of PPP center, by the end of April, there were 12700 PPP projects around the country with a total investment of 15.3 trillion yuan. Infrastructure construction is an important downstream market of construction machinery. With the growth of PPP projects, construction machinery will see a brighter prospect.

The renewal for equipment is another factor to drive up the sales volume. Generally, the construction machinery life is 6-8 years. At present, it has been 8-9 years since the last peak period of construction machinery industry (2007-2011); in the next 2-3 years, there will be a large room for the updating demand of construction machinery equipment.

From a global perspective, the “Belt and Road Initiative” promotes the rapid growth of infrastructure construction and China's overseas contracted projects. In May, China exported 780 units of excavators, a year-on-year growth of 12 percent. In the long term, overseas export business will be an important profit growth point for construction machinery enterprises.
