“We are very satisfied with the (SANY) machines. Two of them have been on site here and we've dug out through fairly solid rock. We've just had a site meeting today and the supervising engineers are astonished at the progress that we've made and a lot of that is down to the actual excavators”, remarked by Patrick Bradley, managing director of Barhaul Ltd., a construction materials supplierin Perthshire, Scotland.
Barhaul has purchased the SANY’s SY215C hydraulic excavator from the contractor of SANY, TDL, to manage a hydroelectric project in Perthshire. The machines were used for trenching over a 45-degree slope, in preparation for key pipework for the hydroelectric scheme.
“WE HAVE TWO 21.5-TON SANY EXCAVATORS, AND I WOULDN’T HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY CONTRACTOR”
The SANY SY215C hydraulic excavator is built to meet the demanding Stage IV / Tier 4 Final emission standards for European and North American markets. The model has an operating weight of 22,600 kg (49,824 lb) and is powered by a robust Cummins engine that produces 164 hp (122 kW) at 2000 rpm.
Beyond the performance of the excavators, Bradley also noted that the after-sales service and support they would receive were also the key factors they were considering. “We knew that if we had a problem with the excavators, the problem would be shared with TDL and SANY,” he said.
“We have two 21.5-ton SANY excavators, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any contractor,” Bradley concluded.
